Stuart to Participate in Marshman 2011 to raise funds for Hospice of St Francis, Berkhamsted!
Stuart is currently training hard in preparation for the Marshman Event (Half Ironman) that he'll be taking part in on Sunday 8th May 2011!He will be swimming 1900m followed by a 92k bike then finishing off with a 21k run! Madness I know but he's got a great incentive, he is fundraising for the Hospice of St Francis, Berkhamsted. The Hospice of St Francis is a charity that provides professional support and care for people with terminal illness. They bring peace, comfort and dignity to people and help them live life to the full, for whatever time is left.
To give you an idea £50 would provide a counselling session for a child suffering from bereavement. £100 would buy a day’s shift for one of the Hospices's specialist home care nurses. £500 would provide an entire morning shift of nursing in the In Patient Unit for one patient, specialist medical care, emotional support, delicious meals, spiritual guidance, physiotherapy and much more.
Donation can be made via Stuart's Just Giving page, please remember Gift Aid too if you are a UK taxpayer!! All donations no matter how big or small make a huge difference and help the Hospice to continue their great work in providing an excellent service during a very difficult time. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
